Physical Therapy for Men of All Ages
Men's Health
Often, men can benefit from Physical Therapy that specializes in pelvic health. We treat incontinence, pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, and rehab for pre and post prostatectomy. We have the specialized skills to help you reach your goals.
What Can I Help You With?
Pelvic Pain
Around 2 to 16 percent of men experience chronic pelvic pain. Often it is diagnosed as a prostate issue. Often, however, it is a muscle related issue that could be helped with Physical Therapy. Many men go years without relief and without being seen by a PT. As Physical Therapists, our job is to look at the muscles of the pelvic floor, abdomen, and surrounding areas and address issues we may find here. Very commonly addressing this dysfunction can make a difference in a man’s pain.
Bowel and Bladder
Physical Therapy can help men with their bowel and bladder symptoms. We treat chronic constipation or other defecation disorders, fecal incontinence (leaking of stool), post void dribble (leaking after urination), and post prostatectomy issues such as incontinence. Through specific exercise, manual therapy, and extensive education we can help men get back to reaching their goals.
Sexual Dysfunction
A common occurrence after a prostate removal, erectile dysfunction can also occur at any time. Physical Therapy can help men identify muscles that aren’t working as well as they should be in order to improve sexual function. We provide education and exercises to help improve function whether it is after a prostate removal or another time in a man’s life.
